The Dranchek - DeAngelis Duo

The Dranchek/DeAngelis Duo is one of the longest standing chamber ensembles of its kind in Central New York. Christopher Dranchek (flute) and Patricia DeAngelis (piano) began their association in 1980, and during 

Christopher Dranchek began his formal study of music at age 20 when he started taking flute lessons in his home town of Camp Hill Pennsylvania. One year later he auditioned for and was accepted into the studio of John Oberbrunner at the Syracuse University School of Music. After receiving his B.S. in Music Education, Dranchek continued private study with Professor Oberbrunner as well as other noted flutists, including Julius Baker, Carol Wincenc, Thom Nyfenger, Bernard Goldberg, Michel Debost, and Deborah Coble. Mr. Dranchek was a featured artist with the Syracuse Camerata, and was a member of the Syracuse Camerata Chamber Orchestra. He appears frequently as a soloist and a chamber musician throughout Central New York.

Patricia DeAngelis, pianist, has performed publicly since age nine and holds the bachelor's and master's degrees in piano performance from Syracuse University, where she was a full scholarship student. As soloist and ensemblist she has played throughout the eastern and southern U. S. with such groups as The Trio Dolce, members of the Syracuse Symphony, the Colgate Concert Orchestra and the Society for New Music. She has performed in: Carnegie Recital Hall, Town Hall and on WQXR in New York City. Mrs. DeAngelis taught piano at Colgate from 1979 to 1999 and has also served on the faculties of L’École Hindemith in Vivey, Switzerland and Onondaga Community College.  Her first appearance under the auspices of Civic Morning Musicals was in 1952.
